 In an exclusive three-part interview with Karen News, the Karen National Union's vice-chairperson, Padoh Naw Zipporah Sein, voiced her concerns that the government is rushing to sign a nationwide ceasefire without regard for the on-the-ground realities of ongoing armed conflict in ethnic areas or of failing to complete its obligations agreed to in previous peace talk meetings.

Naw Zipporah Sein in the interview with Karen News stressed that "the situation is not yet conducive for a nationwide ceasefire agreement. A nationwide ceasefire, we need to think about it carefully. This is one of the demands that we -- the KNU and other ethnic nationalities made to the government previously."

KNU စစ္ဦးစီးခ်ဳပ္ ဗိုလ္ခ်ဳပ္ႀကီးေစာေဂ်ာ္နီႏွင့္ ေတြ႕ဆုံျခင္း Saturday, 17 October 2015 ကရင္အမ်ဳိးသား အစည္းအ႐ုံး / ကရင္အမ်ဳိးသား လြတ္ေျမာက္ေရး တပ္မေတာ္ (KNU/KNLA) စစ္ဦးစီးခ်ဳပ္ ဗိုလ္ခ်ဳပ္ႀကီးေဂ်ာ္နီမွာ တစ္ခ်ိန္က ကရင္ျပည္နယ္ တိုက္ပြဲမ်ားတြင္ ျမန္မာ့တပ္မေတာ္ စစ္ေၾကာင္းမ်ား ေဝးေဝးေရွာင္ခဲ့ရေသာ တိုက္ရည္ခိုက္ရည္ နာမည္ေက်ာ္ခဲ့သည့္ ကရင္ ေတာ္လွန္ေရးေခါင္းေဆာင္ တစ္ဦး ျဖစ္ခဲ့သည္။ ယခုအခါ အစိုးရႏွင့္ အပစ္အခတ္ရပ္စဲေရး စာခ်ဳပ္ လက္မွတ္ေရးထိုးရာတြင္ ေရွ႕ဆုံးကပါဝင္ေသာ ဗိုလ္ခ်ဳပ္ႀကီးေစာေဂ်ာ္နီႏွင့္ The Voice တို႔ ေနျပည္ေတာ္တြင္ ေတြ႕ဆုံ ေမးျမန္းထားသည္မ်ားကို ျပန္လည္ ေဖာ္ျပအပ္ပါသည္။ Voice - KNU အေနနဲ႔ အစိုးရနဲ႔ ႏွစ္ေပါင္း ၆၀ ေက်ာ္ တိုက္ခဲ့ၿပီး ၂၀၁၂ မွာ အပစ္ရပ္စာခ်ဳပ္ လက္မွတ္ထိုးခဲ့တယ္။ ဒီအပစ္ ရပ္ထားခ်ိန္ သုံးႏွစ္အတြင္းမွာ ပဋိပကၡေတြက တကယ္ပဲ သိသိသာသာ ေလ်ာ့က်သြားခဲ့ သလား။ ခုတစ္ႏိုင္ငံလုံး အပစ္ရပ္စာခ်ဳပ္မွာ ထပ္ၿပီး လက္မွတ္ထိုးေတာ့ေရာ ဘာေတြ ပိုထူးျခားလာမလဲ သိပါရေစ။ KNU - အပစ္အခတ္လည္း နည္းသြားတယ္။ အရင္ကလို မဟုတ္ေတာ့ဘူး။ တိုက္ပြဲကေတာ့ ႀကဳိၾကားႀကဳိၾကားနဲ႔ နားလည္မႈ လြဲတဲ့အေပၚမွာ တခ်ဳိ႕ရွိတာေပါ့။ အက်ဳိးရွိတာလည္း ရွိတယ္။ အဆိုးနဲ႔ အေကာင္း ဒြန္တြဲေနတယ္။ ဒါေပမဲ့ နည္းနည္းေတာ့ ေကာင္းလာတာေပါ့။ ကြၽန္ေတာ္တို႔ ျပည္သူလူထု ေအးေအးေဆးေဆး ေနရတယ္။ ဟိုး ၂၀၁၂ ခုႏွစ္တုန္းကေတာ့ ပဏာမ သေဘာတူညီခ်က္။ ကြၽန္ေတာ္တို႔ တိုင္းရင္းသားလည္း ၿငိမ္းခ်မ္းေရး လိုခ်င္တယ္၊ လက္ရွိအစိုးရလည္း ၿငိမ္းခ်မ္းေရး လိုခ်င္တယ္ဆိုေတာ့ ႏွစ္ဖက္လုံး အပစ္အခတ္ရပ္စဲၿပီးမွ ႏိုင္ငံေရး ေျပာလို႔ရမယ္။ အပစ္အခတ္ရပ္စဲေရး ဆိုတာ ႏိုင္ငံေရး စကားေျပာဖို႔ပဲ။ တကယ္လို႔ အပစ္ရပ္ မလုပ္ထားဘူး ဆိုရင္ ႏိုင္ငံေရးစကားေျပာလို႔ ဘယ္ရမလဲ။ စစ္မွန္တဲ့ ၿငိမ္းခ်မ္းေရးကိုေတာ့ ကြၽန္ေတာ္တို႔ မီခ်င္မွမီမယ္။ ေတာ္ေတာ္ၾကာဦးမယ္။
